<OutcrawlStyles />

Outcrawl runs the MCP server for you at **[https://api.outcrawl.ai/mcp](https://api.outcrawl.ai/mcp)**. There is no local package to install. Most clients connect with one command and sign in over OAuth on first use, no key to copy.

<Tabs>
  <Tab title="Claude Code">
    ```bash theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"catppuccin-mocha"}}
    claude mcp add --transport http outcrawl https://api.outcrawl.ai/mcp
    ```

    The first tool call opens a browser to sign in and pick a workspace. Nothing else to configure.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Cursor">
    One click: <a href="cursor://anysphere.cursor-deeplink/mcp/install?name=outcrawl&config=eyJ1cmwiOiJodHRwczovL2FwaS5vdXRjcmF3bC5haS9tY3AifQ==">Add to Cursor</a>. It opens Cursor with the server filled in; the first tool call signs you in.

    Or add it manually in Cursor's MCP settings:

    ```json theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"catppuccin-mocha"}}
    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "outcrawl": {
          "url": "https://api.outcrawl.ai/mcp"
        }
      }
    }
    ```
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Codex">
    ```bash theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"catppuccin-mocha"}}
    codex mcp add outcrawl --url https://api.outcrawl.ai/mcp
    codex mcp login outcrawl
    ```

    Or add the block directly to `config.toml`:

    ```toml theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"catppuccin-mocha"}}
    [mcp_servers.outcrawl]
    url = "https://api.outcrawl.ai/mcp"
    ```
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Other">
    Any client that speaks streamable HTTP and the MCP authorization spec needs nothing more than the URL:

    ```json theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"catppuccin-mocha"}}
    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "outcrawl": {
          "url": "https://api.outcrawl.ai/mcp"
        }
      }
    }
    ```

    For a client with no OAuth support at all, fall back to an API key in a header instead:

    ```json theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"catppuccin-mocha"}}
    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "outcrawl": {
          "url": "https://api.outcrawl.ai/mcp",
          "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ock_YOUR_KEY_ID.YOUR_SECRET" }
        }
      }
    }
    ```

    Generate a key from the console at **[https://outcrawl.ai/console/keys](https://outcrawl.ai/console/keys)**. This is the one place an API key belongs in an MCP config; every client above signs in instead.
  </Tab>
</Tabs>

## How sign-in works

MCP clients sign in with the browser flow OAuth 2.1 describes for public clients: an authorization code with PKCE and no client secret, and an access token scoped to the workspace you pick on the consent page. (The CLI's `outcrawl login` reaches the same account through the device flow instead, because a terminal has no browser redirect to catch.) A client that has never connected before registers itself automatically; there is nothing to create by hand. Removing a member from a workspace cuts off every token their sign-in produced, immediately.

## Rate limiting

Shared with the REST API: every request against your plan's `requestsPerMinute` ceiling, the MCP server included. See [plans](/docs/billing/pricing) for the figure per tier.
